Shaped by nature
When designing our shoes, we were drawing inspiration from the broadly understood domains of nature and biology. This is evidenced by the shape and profile of our product - we have made sure that it perfectly mimics the biomechanical properties of your feet to noticeably aid you in walking in a natural manner. Our shoes tightly envelop your feet. Therefore, sometimes you may feel as if you were not using any footwear at all. We have made sure that some more space is available in the upper of the shoe as well. A lot of effort has been put into designing the sole too. The Zero Drop technology we have applied means that there is not a millimeter of difference between the level of your toes and heel.
Nature has also aided us in creating the right materials for our minimalistic women’s shoes. In manufacturing our shoes, we rely on the wool of merino sheep (just as we do when producing our thermal underwear). Why have we specifically chosen merino wool? Because it offers superb thermal regulation characteristics. The unique structure of that material allows warm air to be efficiently removed outside the shoe, with cooler air simultaneously reaching the user’s feet. This means that Brubeck’s Barefoot Merino shoes guarantee a high level of comfort in any conditions and in any weather, a feature that cannot be overestimated in our changing climate.
Innovative technologies harnessed to improve functionality
The above-mentioned design solutions used in our Barefoot Merino shoes are not the only innovative production technologies we have applied. To make sure that our shoes offer the highest level of protection to your feet, simultaneously providing maximum comfort on an everyday basis, we have implemented the Total Flex technology increasing the elasticity of the shoe’s upper, and a thin yet durable Ground Feel sole. One should also bear in mind that merino wool is a material that is not prone to absorbing unpleasant odors on its own. This means that it remains fresh longer, making the issue of keeping our shoes clean less of a problem.
Where are the Merino Barefoot shoes made?
We are proud of the fact that our minimalistic women’s Brubeck Barefoot Merino shoes are manufactured solely in Poland, in our factory in Zduńska Wola - a town boasting long-lasting textile industry traditions. The components of our unique shoes - their outer layer made of functional microfibers, the inner layer - the lining with an integrated merino wool padding, as well as all other elements are made locally. This allows us to fully control the production process - from creating the yarn, to packing and shipping the finished product.
How should Merino Barefoot shoes be cleaned?
As mentioned above, merino wool repels unpleasant odors, which means it does not have to be washed too often (especially in comparison with products made of synthetic materials). Should a need to refresh your Barefoot Merino shoes arise, however, just clean them in a washing machine programmed to deal with “wool” or “delicate items”, at 30°C.
Eco-Friendly Merino Barefoot Shoes
Merino wool is an environmentally friendly material, as it is fully renewable and biodegradable, with its production based on traditional methods. The animals growing this type of wool live in semi-wild conditions and in their natural environment. What is equally important, the locations from which we source our merino wool do not use any mulesing practices. Furthermore, the upper of the minimalistic Barefoot Merino shoes by Brubeck is knitted from top to bottom. Such an approach allows us to avoid any production waste that is created if traditional cutting and sewing techniques are employed.
