Therefore, nature has equipped those sheep with some unique protection mechanisms that benefit humans as well. The unique properties of merino wool consist in the fact that it is capable of providing superb thermal insulation and efficiently wicking moisture outside, simultaneously maintaining good breathability. The space between thin fibers of the wool - three times thinner than human hair - is filled with a network of minute air-filled channels operating as a buffer zone and preventing low temperatures from affecting the skin.
