When creating our Merino Barefoot shoes, we came to the conclusion that nature is the ultimate source of what is best for humans. That is why we opted for the wool of Australian merino sheep as one of our primary raw materials. Why did we do that? We made this decision because merino wool is characterized by phenomenal insulating and thermal properties. We have been manufacturing underwear and thermal clothing made of merino wool for years now. Garments of this type help their users maintain thermal comfort in extremely low and high temperatures. Now your feet are in for the same type of treatment!
These are not, however, all nature-inspired solutions we have relied upon while designing our Merino Barefoot collection. We made a great effort to make sure that the men’s shoes we offer are superbly profiled, ideally fit your feet and enhance their biomechanical properties, consequently allowing you to walk in the most natural of manners. That is why we have implemented, inter alia, the Total Flex technology increasing the elasticity of the shoe’s upper, and a thin yet durable Ground Feel sole. The outer surface of the shoe is made of functional microfibers, while the inner layer - the lining with an integrated merino wool padding - is characterized by increased resistance to absorbing odors, simultaneously remaining fresh for longer and eliminating the need for washing.

Where are the Merino Barefoot shoes made?
The components of our shoes - their outer layer made of functional microfibers and the inner layer, i.e. the lining with an integrated merino wool padding, as well as all other elements are made at our plant located in Zduńska Wola in central Poland. Our town boasts a long history of textile making, and we are proud to be able to write the next chapter of that unique heritage. The entire production process takes place in Poland, meaning we exercise full control over each stage of manufacturing our shoes - from creating the yarn to packing and shipping the final product to the end customer.
How should Merino Barefoot shoes be cleaned?
Merino wool that our shoes are made of is very easy to maintain. It does not require frequent washing, as it repels any unpleasant odors. Compared with shoes made of synthetic materials, footwear produced with the use of merino wool stays fresh and allows the user to enjoy a pleasant scent for longer. If, however, the shoes need to be washed, they should be cleaned in a washing machine programmed to “wool” or “delicate items”, at 30°C.
The Merino Barefoot shoes are environmentally friendly.

The wool they are made of is an eco raw material that is fully renewable and biodegradable. The wool is produced with the use of traditional methods, and the semi-wild animals it is sourced from thrive in their natural environment. The wool we are using comes from suppliers who do not rely on mulesing. The upper of the shoe is knitted from top to bottom. Such an approach allows us to avoid any production waste that is created if traditional cutting and sewing techniques are employed.
